Does any other country have an election process that includes anything like the roll call? It’s very unifying. I always forget about American Samoa and Guam and embarrassed that I never heard of or remembered the Northern Mariana Islands
Good question. In other democracies, parties do choose their leaders, and many of them have the equivalent of U.S. states, but I don't honestly know whether they do anything like the convention roll call. But it is a way to unify a party. And yeah, always interesting to be reminded that places like Guam and American Samoa also have a say, at least in the nominations.
